This page explains what information Belighten (www.belighten.com, "the site") comes into contact with when you visit or use it, what that information is used for, and how you can control it.
The site has no account system, and we do not collect or resell the 3D models you open in the tools. Each third-party service we rely on is listed below.
Information we collect
Because there are no accounts, we do not collect names, identity documents, or payment details. The information that does exist falls into four groups:
- Contact details you submit: when you use the contact form we receive the name you choose to give (optional), your email address or phone number, the issue type, your message, plus the page URL and browser identifier at submission time. This is used only to answer your question.
- Server access logs: standard logs (IP address, timestamp, request path, user agent) used for troubleshooting, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic measurement, retained no longer than operational needs require.
- Local preferences: your language choice and colour theme are stored in your browser (cookie or localStorage) so the site looks the same next time. They are not uploaded to us.
- Analytics data: anonymised visit data (page views, referrers, device type, approximate region) collected by the third-party analytics services described below.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Belighten uses cookies and localStorage for exactly three purposes: remembering your language and theme preferences; measuring traffic; and letting third-party advertising services serve and measure ads while you browse.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. The tools keep working if you do, though your language preference may not persist and some measurement will be lost.
Third-party analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-YG9KR61H4Q) and Baidu Tongji to understand how pages are used. These services collect visit data through cookies and process it under their own privacy policies. You can install Google's official opt-out browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) to prevent Google Analytics measurement.
Third-party advertising and the Google DART cookie
The site may display advertising through third-party vendors such as Google AdSense to cover hosting and development costs. The details:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DART cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads). You can also visit https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ to learn about and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising.
- Opting out does not remove ads; it only means the ads are no longer based on your browsing history.
- We do not pass your contact form contents to advertising services, and model file contents are never used for ad targeting.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared with third parties only where necessary: an email service to deliver the contact form message you send; the analytics and advertising services described above; and where required by law or to protect the site and its users.
Retention and security
Contact form messages are kept for at most 24 months after the issue is resolved, then deleted. Access logs are retained briefly for operational purposes. We protect data with HTTPS in transit and restricted server access, but no internet transmission is absolutely secure. Please do not submit passwords, API keys or other secrets through the form.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete the information you submitted, and ask what data we hold about you. Use the contact page or email belighten@gmail.com; we will respond within 30 days of verifying the request.
Children's privacy
The site is aimed at adults and developers who work with 3D content. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child's data reached us, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Analytics and advertising are provided by companies outside China, so visit data may be processed in their jurisdictions under the safeguards those providers publish, such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change as features or regulations change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will change accordingly, and material changes will be announced prominently on the site.
